We start this video still in the cold and fog as a set of NS light engines come off the Greenville line, running long hood forward with an EMD second and a pair of green slug units. We follow them into the yard. Next we hear the rumble of EMD four axle GP40's coming out of CSX yard with a string of sand hoppers to switch out at the sand plant. This operation usually happens on Sundays so no surprise. While they prepare to switch out an NS stack pulls up from Inman yard. While they work their train along comes a CSX freight at full track speed so we follow them through Howell wye. While that's passing a second CSX freight pulls up to the signal and stops. Sunday's are always busier for CSX than Saturdays. After the first freight is clear the second heads right after them. It's also a combo train with racks mixed in. As the NS stack heads out onto the main we see yet another CSX freight approach from the east. This one is lead by CP and KCS units which seem to be a regular occurrence the past few weeks. We swap batteries as they slowly make their way into CSX yard. The sand crew has left their loads on the wye and are picking up the empties. On the CSX freight we see an old Maine Central Guilford Railroad boxcar. After a bit the CSX freight stops and we will pick this up again later.
