In this special interview, Swami Parvathi reflects on the people, experiences and events that shaped the Ashram in its formative years. Speaking with Shobha Day, Patron of the Ashram, Swami Parvathi shares her memories of Swami Venkatesananda - whose teachings and presence were a profound inspiration for the establishment of the Ashram - as well as stories from its early years between 1976-1982. Through her personal memories, we glimpse the beginnings of the Ashram, the people who helped to bring it to life, most importantly Swami Lakshmi, and the spirit that guided that guided its early development. Recorded as part of the Sivananda Ashram - Beacon Yoga Centre's 50th Anniversary documentary project, this conversation preserves a unique piece of the Ashram's history through the memories of someone who was there in its formative years.
