Remember Christmas in 1973? The excitement, the preparations, the presents under the tree and the wonderful feeling that Christmas was finally here. Today, we're gonna taka a trip back to Christmas 1973 to discover just how different things were. From battling our way around the shops to preparing the Christmas dinner, baking cakes, making puddings and wrapping presents, we'll revisit the little traditions that made Christmas special. Remember when Christmas shopping meant visiting the shops in person? queuing for hours When presents didn't have to be expensive to bring a smile to someone's face? When the kitchen was full of activity, the television played a big part in the celebrations, and families came together to make the most of the festive season? We'll look back at the food and drink we enjoyed, that was all cooked and not ready made, the presents we gave and received, wrapped in that paper thin Christmas paper, the decorations we put up, and kept falling down, and the Christmas traditions that many of us still remember with affection. Of course, life wasn't perfect in 1973, and every family celebrated differently. But there's something fascinating about looking back at an ordinary British Christmas and comparing it with the way we celebrate today. What do you remember most about Christmas when you were growing up? Was it the presents, the food, the family gatherings, or something much smaller that has stayed with you all these years?
