Did recon the prior afternoon. It was going to be risky to run gear in the rain again and I wanted to look at my options. I decided to mount my mics to a red alder (Alnus rubra) tree that was slightly behind the board and about 20 feet to the right. Mics about 7 feet in the air. The tree canopy provided protection from the rain. The elevated mics all but eliminated crowd noise and the tree turned out to be quite a sweet spot sonically. I recorded from the same spot in the same tree all 3 nights. These are definitely some of my best sounding recordings of the tour. Here is the third of the tree tapes.....
