THIS IS EVERYTHING WE WANTED IN A MORTAL KOMBAT FILM ADAPTATION! We’re back with Mom & Daughter Reacts, and this time it’s just Tessa (Mama’s Geeky) and Lorie diving into Mortal Kombat — and we are watching it in preparation for Mortal Kombat 2! As fans of the games (even if we are button mashers through and through), we had high hopes for this one… and WOW, it delivered exactly what we wanted. This movie is gory, bloody, over-the-top, and SO much fun. From the brutal fight sequences to the iconic references pulled straight from the games, Mortal Kombat really embraces what makes the franchise so beloved. The fatalities, the characters, the powers — it all feels like a love letter to fans, and we were here for every second of it. This is the kind of movie you put on to have a blast, and we absolutely did. Now we are even MORE excited for Mortal Kombat 2! We loved the intense and brutal opening sequence, all the incredible fight scenes packed with gore and fatalities, the iconic character introductions, and the many references to the games that had us geeking out. The over-the-top action and fun tone made this such an entertaining watch from start to finish. Mortal Kombat features an awesome cast, including Lewis Tan (Into the Badlands, Wu Assassins) as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee (The Meg, Sirens) as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson (House of Lies) as Kano, Tadanobu Asano (Thor, 47 Ronin) as Raiden, Mehcad Brooks (Supergirl, True Blood) as Jax, Ludi Lin (Power Rangers, Aquaman) as Liu Kang, Hiroyuki Sanada (John Wick: Chapter 4, The Last Samurai) as Scorpion, and Joe Taslim (The Raid, Warrior) as Sub-Zero.
