You Have Access to the King
What in your life needs to be rebuilt?
A relationship?
Your family?
Your strength?
Your faith?
A dream or calling that feels like it's fallen apart?
In today's devotional, Tony looks at Nehemiah—the king's cupbearer who received permission and resources to return to Jerusalem and rebuild its broken walls. He uses Nehemiah's access to the king as a picture of the access believers have to God through Jesus Christ.
Nehemiah heard that Jerusalem's walls were broken down and its gates had been burned.
He was heartbroken.
But before he rebuilt anything...
He prayed.
He fasted.
Then, when the opportunity came, Nehemiah brought his request before the king.

In This Devotional:
✝️ Nehemiah's role as cupbearer to the king
✝️ The importance of prayer and fasting
✝️ Bringing our needs before God
✝️ Trusting God to provide what is needed
✝️ Rebuilding what has been broken
✝️ Remembering our access to the Father through Jesus
Nehemiah didn't look at the ruins and decide the situation was hopeless.
He sought God.
And eventually, what had been destroyed was rebuilt.
Maybe there are some broken walls in your life right now.
Maybe something you've prayed about seems beyond repair.
Tony's encouragement is to bring it before God.
God sees you.
He knows when you're discouraged.
He knows what has been broken.
And through Jesus Christ, you can come before Him in prayer.
So pray.
Fast.
Trust Him.
And ask:
"Lord, what do You want to rebuild in my life?"
The ruins don't have to be the end of the story.
