This ten-mile journey across the Chiltern Hills unfolds as a tapestry of history, nature, and tranquil countryside. Beginning at Tring Railway Station, my walk eases into rhythm alongside the Grand Union Canal. Following the towpath, I reach the quiet hamlet of Cow Roast. Leaving the water behind, I ascend towards Wigginton Bottom, the footpath revealing sweeping views as the landscape unfurls. Past Hawridge Common, the route threads through the village of Hawridge, where ancient hedgerows line the way. From here, the path dips into a peaceful valley before climbing again to Ramscoat Wood. Crossing into Great Hivings, the journey meanders downhill, touching briefly upon Asheridge Road before climbing one final ascent into Chesham. The Chiltern Link leads me gently toward Skottowe’s Pond, where the journey concludes, a fitting end to a passage rich in scenery, solitude, and the quiet pulse of nature.
