Hartsdale Pet Cemetery, the first-ever pet burial site in the United States, was established in 1896 through the collaboration of Emily Berthet, an accomplished equestrian, and Dr. Samuel Johnson, a veterinarian. This historic cemetery serves as the final resting place for around 70,000 pets, including exotic animals.
Explore its historical treasures, such as the oldest headstone, a 50-ton spaniel mausoleum, and the National War Dog Memorial.
Notably, there is a book available for purchase on Amazon, providing deeper insights into this remarkable place.
