One thing that is already clear to everybody in Nigeria is that we have enormous problems in our housing sector, and almost every one of us is frustrated.
I have spoken with housing agents who have expressed their frustration with the market, but they cannot even function if the houses were not built.
I've spoken with tenants who think the housing market as it is in Nigeria is purposely built to frustrate them, but again they won't even be living if the houses were not built.
The question then is, how does the houses get built
and by whom?
The landlords of course!
And their experiences are invaluable to any suggestions or any initiative towards solving our housing problems.
That is why in this episode, I sat with a landlord, Mr Kingsley, to try to understand what it really mean to be a landlord in Nigeria especially in the face of the housing deficit we are battling with, his experience managing the properties vis-a-vis his relationship with his tenants, agents and lawyers, and some of the challenges he has experienced so far, as well as his suggestions for a better housing experience for Nigerians.
It surely is an interesting conversation and you don't want to miss it.
So go ahead and watch to the end and tell us what you think.
