(English subtitles) Tutorial, historical hints, presentation and cinematic intro of "Almoravid: Reconquista and Riposte in Spain 1085-1086". A two-player/team game (wargame, boardwargame, historical boardgame) designed by Volko Ruhke and published by Gmt Games. It is the second volume in the Levy & Campaign series, an operation system that portrays military warfare in the middle ages. In this volume a pair of tumultuous campaigns in the Spanish Reconquista - Leonese King Alfonso VI's advances against the 11th Century's fractious Muslim Taifa states, and the resulting intervention by a fundamentalist African Muslim army seeking to roll the Christians back. Players will raise armies, equip them and levy lords and vassals. Then they will command them on 40 days campaigns to ravage enemy territories and siege key strongholds choosing the right time to accept or concede battle. Supplies are key, as well as keeping the eye to the terms of service of the various lords, influenced by success or failure in their campaigns. You'll need to pay them with coin or loot captured by ravaging or conquering enemy regions to prolong their service. Various event and capability cards reveal cultural and technological particulars that influence levy, campaign, and combat.
