In February 1937, Bernard O’Reilly chose where to search Queensland’s McPherson Range for a missing airliner; finding two survivors was only the first step toward getting them out. The Long Way Through follows documented journeys, rescues and difficult choices before 1970. Method: AI-assisted research and scripting, synthetic narration, and generated illustrative scenes and sound. Reconstructions are not archive footage, exact maps or eyewitness recordings. Source notes identify the records used and distinguish supported events from uncertainty. This video contains content generated or altered using artificial intelligence.
