Charity Angél Dawson (Like Father, Waitress)

Charity Angél Dawson is a Broadway powerhouse who you may know from Waitress, & Juliet, Chicago, Mrs. Doubtfire, Side Show, and so much more! Charity is currently starring in the new original musical Like Father at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre through November 15. In this episode, we take a trip down memory lane to her childhood production of The Wiz, which featured an incredible lineup of young talent, including Emma Stone and Jordin Sparks (yes, THAT Emma Stone and Jordin Sparks!). Charity shares how playing Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray unlocked a new sense of confidence in her personal style, the magic of Waitress, and why the Alliance Theatre was the perfect home for the world premiere of Like Father. It's a conversation about growing up in the theater, finding confidence through the characters we play, and the experiences that shape an artist's journey.
