Have you ever had that feeling that something just wasn’t right… only to look back later and think, “I knew it!”
This week, we’re kicking off our September theme, The Power of Intuition, with a conversation all about those little nudges, red flags, gut feelings, and promptings that are sometimes so easy to explain away.
We’re talking about the difference between intuition, discernment, inspiration, and anxiety, and how we can learn to recognize God’s voice in the middle of a very noisy world. And of course, we have plenty of stories about the times we listened… and the times we definitely did NOT.
One of the biggest things we realized in this conversation is that sometimes we aren’t actually waiting for more information. We already know. We’re just trying to find the courage to act on what we know.
In this episode, we talk about:
Why red flags are so easy to explain away, especially when we don’t like what they’re telling us
The difference between intuition, discernment, inspiration, and anxiety
How to recognize when a thought is bringing you closer to God versus pulling you into fear
Why sometimes obedience means acting on a prompting without ever knowing exactly why
The importance of creating quiet in our lives so we can actually hear the still, small voice
How our kids learn healthy relationship patterns by watching what happens inside our homes
Why we may not need more evidence, we may just need more courage
Learning to expect God’s goodness instead of always expecting the worst
We also share some pretty personal stories about moments when we felt prompted to do something that didn’t necessarily make sense at the time, but looking back, we can see God’s hand in it.
Our Becoming Invitation
This week, we’re inviting you to find 10 minutes of silence every day.
No podcast. No scrolling. No multitasking. Just you, some quiet, and God.
Ask yourself:
“What have I been trying to tell myself that I’ve been too busy to hear?”
Then listen. Write down what comes. Pay attention to the little nudges.
Because God’s voice probably isn’t going to compete with all the noise.
“The voice is gonna be small. It’s gonna be still. It’s gonna take practice, but it’s there.”
Maybe the more we practice listening, the more we’ll realize He’s been speaking all along.
