🚉 Railroad Action at Gananoque Station – Kingston Subdivision, CN Railway On a stunning September 20th morning—the final day of summer—I made my way to Gananoque, Ontario to catch some rail action. The early signs of autumn were just beginning to show, with a few trees starting to turn colour. The historic Gananoque train station stands in fair condition, though it looks like a new roof might be in order soon. The building was locked and empty, but curiously, a loud scanner inside was actively broadcasting chatter between VIA Rail and CN Rail crews. I’m not sure who currently owns or maintains the station, but it still feels like a place with stories to tell. As luck would have it, I witnessed something special: one of VIA Rail’s new Siemens Venture train sets—the uniquely painted “Lumi”—pulled in for a stop, just as another VIA train thundered past on the mainline.
