Since leaving Africa, we have ailed nearly 5,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, and after all those days at sea, our Atlantic crossing is beginning to draw to a close. We are yet to lay eyes on the continent of South America, butn as the Salvation Islands lay just a few miles off the coast of French Guiana, reaching them will mark the moment we officially have crossed the Atlantic ocean.
