On March 4, 2002, Air Force combat controller John Chapman was hit on top of an Afghan mountain called Takur Ghar, and his team believed he was dead.
A Predator drone kept recording. Seventy minutes later, the Air Force says, that same figure moved again.
This is the story of Tech. Sgt. John Chapman and the Battle of Roberts Ridge during Operation Anaconda: the mission to rescue Navy SEAL Neil Roberts, the one-man fight Air Force investigators pieced together from the drone footage years later, the dispute over what really happened on that summit, and the Medal of Honor that followed in 2018. Seven Americans died on Takur Ghar. This film remembers all of them.
