🗺️ About the route This drive starts at Lago del Predil in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy and crosses into Slovenia via the Predil Pass, descending toward Srpenica in the Soča Valley. The route follows a two-lane mountain road that climbs to around 1,156 meters at the border before winding down through forested switchbacks on the Slovenian side. The footage was recorded during rainfall, adding wet road conditions and reduced visibility to the drive. 🏔️ About Predil Pass The Predil Pass (also called Predel) sits on the border between Italy and Slovenia in the Julian Alps, between Mount Mangart and Mount Kanin, at an elevation of 1,156 meters. The road dates back to at least 1319, when it was built as a trade route, and it changed hands between several empires before becoming today's Italy–Slovenia frontier.
