Bike trail on the Mediterranean! In Sicily

*** WATCH IN 4K ***: Coastal Sicily, Italy, doesn't have much by way of bike trails, or paths, or even lanes. So it was amazing during my genealogical trip in late May 2026 to find not just a bike trail while out riding but an excellent one — in great condition, with the tremendous Mediterranean Sea and Sicilian hills in the background. These are most of my rides back and forth on the bike trail in the seaside town of Isola di Femmine, a little west of Palermo on the northwest coast. It's just a couple of miles each way, and there was a little construction in the way. But there was no obstruction of the views of the deep blue sea and the landscape. You'll see that life is relaxed — and people walk loosely on or across the trail here, too, so I still had to keep alert. But who minds slowing down in a setting like this?
