Step away from the city chaos and join us on an incredible 2-day escape into the red soil and whispering forests of Jhargram!
Our journey kicks off with that unbeatable pre-trip excitement crossing the Howrah Bridge, catching a glimpse of Howrah Station in the distance, and hopping onto an early morning train to Jungle Mahal. In this vlog, we explore the perfect blend of tribal heritage, architecture, hidden waterfalls, and serene lakes across two action-packed days.
📍 What We Explored on This Trip:
Day 1 – Heritage & Culture: Walk through the vibrant canvas-like lanes of Khwab Gaon (Village of Dreams), admire the royal heritage at Jhargram Rajbari, and experience the divine peace of the 500-year-old Kanak Durga Temple nestled inside the Chilkigarh forest, followed by a quiet evening by the Dulung River.
Day 2 – Waterfalls & Nature Trails: Fuel up with a classic Bengali breakfast of hot luchis, cholar dal, boiled eggs, and fresh fruits after an honest room tour at Somani Inn. Then, head into the Belpahari circuit to discover the rugged canyon beauty of Ghagra Waterfalls, the flowing streams of Dangikusum / Hud Hud Falls, panoramic hill views at Gadrasani Hill, and a breathtaking sunset at Khandarani Lake.
Food & Stay: From traditional local flavors to a cozy dinner wrap-up at Restaurant Banjara, we taste the best of local cuisine!
🚆 Travel Info:
Best morning train connections from Howrah (HWH) to Jhargram (JGM) include the Jan Shatabdi Express and Ispat Express (approx. a 3-hour ride).
