Build Through the Cold Months · nordic ambient dub for deep work

Dark and still Nordic ambient, with a deep bass that takes a full minute to move from one note to the next. A solo cello plays long low notes, close enough to hear the grit of the bow and the player breathing between phrases. The cold shed around it creaks, wind slips under the door, and a high glassy bowed tone answers the cello now and then with a long tail. In the last two minutes the cello climbs an octave while the bass stays exactly where it was. A huge open timber structure on a rocky fjord shore under low cloud, pale spruce posts and beams against black water and mountains, with one warm enclosed room glowing at its heart.
