Bloodroot Embroidery

This is how I incorporate water-based paint in my embroidery practice. This technique is one of my favorites. All of the materials I used in this video were thrifted except the thread, needles, and paint brushes. I'm stitching with my vintage Kenmore sewing machine. Indiana woodlands have been in danger of destruction by corporations. Indiana was once nearly entirely forest. The colonizers and settlers cut down most of the forest leaving very little. There are some great organizations in Indiana fighting to preserve what little forest is remaining.
