Sergeant Sean Mondschein, a soldier in the Golani Brigade, was born on December 30th, 1994, to Menachem and Ninet Mondschein. In June 2014, the Israel Defense Forces launched Operation Protective Edge after Hamas terrorists kidnapped and murdered three Israeli teenagers. On July 20, 2014, Sean was called to Gaza for an operation in the Shuja'iya neighborhood where he, along with six of his crew members, were killed when their APC was hit by an enemy missile. A few days before entering Gaza, he wrote farewell letters to his family and friends on his phone, in case he wouldn’t return from battle.
