At this ETS Talk the Oeko-Institut report “ETS & national targets: building a fair post‑2030 climate architecture” was presented and discussed. Authors of the report Sabine Gores and Jakob Graichen outlined the findings from their study, which demonstrate how the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and national climate targets can work together to achieve the EU’s 2040 climate goals, while promoting fairness, solidarity, and convergence across member states. Greens/EFA MEP Lena Schilling shared insights and reflections on the study, and highlighted the political challenges and opportunities ahead.
