🎸 FREE eBook — "Break Out of the Box": escape the one pentatonic shape you keep landing in and start seeing the whole neck as one connected system. Yours free 👉 https://fretscience.com/start?utm_sou... In August, I drove to Andy Wood's Woodshed Guitar Experience in Crossville, Tennessee, and sat in on a fretboard geometry master class taught by Robb Cappelletto, who has been Billy Strings' teacher for the last few years. Robb showed us a scale exercise that covers the whole neck with six shapes. It's simple to describe, a little challenging to play, and I'd happily assign it to my own students. The first half of this video teaches it the way Robb laid it out. The second half looks at what it leaves out and shows a more general way to build the same shapes from a few building blocks, in any key and in the modes. 📄 Mentioned in this video: ▶ Guitar Scales Made Easy, my first twelve videos as a free mini-course:    • Guitar scales made easy (Recommended Viewi...   ▶ Watch all twelve ad-free, with a printable PDF cheat sheet for each: https://fretscience.com/bundles/pdf-b... ▶ Complete Scale Fluency, the full step-by-step course: https://fretscience.com/courses/csf?u... ▶ PDF version of this lesson (Patreon Silver and up): https://fretscience.com/lessons/robb-... 🙏 Thanks to Robb Cappelletto for the exercise that started all this.
