Climate Finance Concept Development Support and Country Update Meeting

This meeting brought together country concept note coordinators and Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative (CSESI) partners to review progress on the development of regional climate finance concepts for the Pacific education sector. Discussions focused on updates from recent engagement with climate finance and development partners, including potential funding pathways for climate-resilient school infrastructure and resilient learning systems. The session highlighted the importance of national stakeholder engagement, country ownership, and securing in-principle government support to advance the concept notes. Participating countries shared progress, challenges, and approaches to engaging ministries and key stakeholders, while the CSESI team provided guidance on next steps, evidence requirements, and the use of concept development tools and trackers. The meeting also outlined priorities for the coming weeks, including stakeholder consultations, data and evidence collection, and preparations for future discussions with climate finance partners. The discussion served as an opportunity for peer learning, coordination, and strengthening collaboration across participating Pacific countries.
