Your words have power. In Part 3 of Stay Salty Pastor Jord Ahmed looks at what it means for our conversations to be “full of grace, seasoned with salt.” The Bible tells us that the tongue has the power of life and death. Our words can encourage, heal, inspire and build people up — but they can also tear down, discourage and destroy. And Jesus takes it even deeper. It’s not only about controlling what comes out of our mouths. Our words reveal what is already happening in our hearts. Looking at Jesus’ response to the woman caught in adultery in John 8, Jord explores what salty speech actually looks like: being slow to speak, grace-filled, truthful, gentle, encouraging and wise. Because following Jesus shouldn’t only change what we believe. It should change the way we speak. If we allow God to season our speech with salt, He will shape our character — and our character will influence our conduct.
