Operation Sindoor के बाद Ashutosh Dixit को ही क्यों मिली IAF की कमान? क्या है पूरा मामला?

Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit has been appointed as the next Chief of the Indian Air Force and will take charge as the 29th Chief of the Air Staff on October 31, 2026, succeeding Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh. But who is Ashutosh Dixit, and why is his appointment significant, especially after his role in India’s joint military operations and Operation Sindoor? In this video, we take a detailed look at Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit’s four-decade-long journey in the Indian Air Force — from being commissioned into the Fighter Stream in 1986 to flying more than 3,300 hours across multiple aircraft, including MiG-21, Mirage 2000, Jaguar and reportedly Tejas. We also look at his experience as an Experimental Test Pilot, his command of a Mirage fighter squadron and operational air bases, his role in Air Headquarters, his tenure as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, and his experience as Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (CISC). During Operation Sindoor, Ashutosh Dixit was serving as CISC, a position closely linked to coordination and jointness among the Army, Navy and Air Force. His experience in joint operations could prove significant as the Indian military continues to move towards greater integration and theatre commands. As the new Air Chief, he will face major challenges including the shortage of fighter squadrons, timely induction of indigenous aircraft, modernisation, drones and counter-drone systems, missile defence, and strengthening jointness among the three services. Watch the full video to understand who Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit is, his military career, his connection with Operation Sindoor, and the challenges awaiting him as the next IAF Chief.
