The Del Rio Border Kidnapping: Inspector Richard Latham and the Gray Grand Prix | The FBI Files

A routine checkpoint at Del Rio turns into every agent’s worst nightmare when Inspector Richard Latham vanishes during a vehicle search. As minutes slip away, a multi-agency manhunt races across Texas and into Mexico. An identikit sketch, an outdated DMV list, and a single gray 1975 Pontiac Grand Prix become the thin threads investigators follow. A taxi stop on a lonely highway erupts into gunfire. A pillowcase of jewelry surfaces. A .38 service revolver goes missing. A motel phone trace and a tense bridge surrender push the case to a breaking point. But one question refuses to settle: who actually pulled the trigger? Step inside the investigation as the FBI, U.S. Customs, Texas troopers, and Mexican authorities align under crushing pressure to bring cop killers to justice. Watch to see how a patchwork of small breaks, bold decisions, and one crucial confession turned a cold trail red hot. Don’t miss how the truth finally emerges from conflicting stories. Watch now for the full case. #TheFBIFiles #RichardLatham #TrueCrimeDoc #DelRio #USCustoms #FBI #Texas
