But there's another side of tourism that could play an increasingly important role in the country's future: business tourism. Santo Domingo is already the economic and commercial center of the Dominican Republic. With its growing skyline, modern hotels, corporate offices, restaurants, shopping districts, and expanding infrastructure, the city has an opportunity to attract more international conferences, conventions, corporate meetings, and business travelers. And the potential impact goes far beyond filling hotel rooms.
