Always Buy These 12 Things at Dollar Tree When You Live Alone (And 5 That Cost You More)

📖 Dee's dollar store chapter is in her book, The Grocery Savings Handbook: https://readthebackwithdee.com/ A dollar store isn't cheap and it isn't expensive. It's small. Small is wonderful when a bigger size would go to waste, and small is expensive on anything that keeps. These are the 12 things I always buy at Dollar Tree now that it's just me, and the 5 that cost you more than they look, even with that little price on the tag. New here? This is Read the Back with Dee. The front of the package is what they want you to see. The back is what you actually pay for. Dee spent 38 years in the grocery business, the last 22 as a store manager in Ohio. In this video: chip clips, measuring cups and spoons, small containers that match, a cutting board just for raw meat, the little bottle you use twice a year, a small loaf pan and sheet pan, a big kitchen calendar, a placemat, a jar opener, a notebook for your price book, the plain card that fills a chair on a Sunday in January, and the reason there's no ice in Dee's ice cube trays. The 5 that cost you more: the little bottle of laundry soap, name-brand canned vegetables, the little jar of coffee, cat food, and small bottles of juice. Plus: the bread store that isn't a dollar store at all, where half the town buys its bread. The Price Book Page and the Freezer and Leftover Labels are both pages you can print from Dee's book. Most Dollar Tree items are now $1.25 to $1.50, and prices vary by store. Food safety tips follow USDA guidance. Not sponsored by Dollar Tree or any brand. What's the one thing you always buy at the dollar store? And what state are you in? Tell Dee in the comments. Next time: the kind of store Dee ran for 22 years. 📖 The Grocery Savings Handbook: https://readthebackwithdee.com/ #DollarTree #LivingAlone #ReadTheBack
