Prayer for Hope to Start Your Day, Hope Thou in God | Morning Prayer

Before you step into your day, lift your eyes and put your hope in God again. This morning prayer for hope brings together Psalms 42 and 43, "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? hope thou in God", Psalms 33, 39, 71, 130, 146 and 31, the new mercies of Lamentations 3, God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11, hope as an anchor of the soul in Hebrews 6, Romans 5, 8 and 15, the living hope of 1 Peter 1, two collects from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, and two beloved hymns, "My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less" and "Be Still, My Soul". Whatever you are carrying today, His mercies are new this morning, and your hope in Him will not be put to shame. "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance."
