The second installment of our ReFrame 20th Anniversary Editions. ReFrame is an album that defines Rabbit Junk to this day, and to celebrate its 20th anniversary, we're releasing re-mixed and mastered editions of several tracks off of what many consider to be this "seminal" LP. We're keeping all the original vocal recordings, guitars, and synth-work, and updating the sound quality so fans can finally hear what we actually intended to do. in 2005, when we were recording this album, we were proper broke and had basically zero recording budget. The original album was recorded in garages and bedrooms with minimal equipment and so, not surprisingly, it has pretty bad sound quality. Nonetheless, ReFrame put Rabbit Junk on the map as an innovator in the digital hardcore and industrial scenes. We're excited to honor these 20-year old recordings with our new skills and resources so that you can hear what was in our heads at the time. About "Millennial Pox": It's been pretty spooky seeing this song's vibe just keep getting more relevant. And when the Pandemic hit, this track felt eerily prescient. Overall, I think the track mostly speaks for itself: it's about modern isolation in the context of social media and video games. It ended up being a fan fave from the record, which surprised us a lot. We're happy to give it the spa treatment it deserves. LYRICS: Ice cold handshake of your newest enemy Smell the fear as the bodies grow sweaty The strongest god is the deity of the petty In the pantheon of isolated passions He wins For the city sings its prayers to him With every silent prejudice And every warm smiling bias The sky turns heavy and humorless We're redefining our sentience In the golden age of loneliness And you think you're doing it You're doing it, you're doing it right And then like freshly opened eyes Exposed to broad day light Is this feeling or convincing? Or is my gut misleading All control is an illusion And all compassion is a drug Smile on drip Pull the goddamn plug Long live the cult of the thug, amen I'm walking down the streets of Los Emptiness I step over the ghost of hope still restless And you think you're doing it You're doing it, you're doing it right You keep your mind tight To keep the mood light Don't let yourself show Don't let the others know It's all just pretend My greatest friend Is a black box In the golden age Of loneliness In a world where men become demons And women into witches All realness is fleeting How easily it all switches With great overtures of friendship That don't mean shit When you're not gonna be somebody else's meal ticket And the irony is that it feeds the leech That keeps us out of reach You can not teach The broken glass on this beach Set to lacerate The heavy soles of fate And you think you're doing it You're doing it, you're doing it right You keep your mind tight To keep the mood light Don't let yourself show Don't let the others know It's all just pretend My greatest friend Is a black box In the golden age Of loneliness credits released February 6, 2026 Original track appears on ReFrame (2006) and again on ReFrame (2008, Full effect Records, who idiotically misnamed it is "MILLENNIAL POW").
