NASCAR drivers are some of the most talented racers in the world, but even the best drivers, teams, and officials can have moments where you’re left wondering… what were they thinking? In NASCAR, one bad decision can completely change a race. Whether it’s making an unnecessary block, causing a completely avoidable crash, missing pit road, wrecking under caution, forgetting how many laps are left, making a terrible strategy call, or just doing something that makes absolutely no sense, NASCAR has given us plenty of hilarious and unbelievable moments over the years. In this video, we’re taking a look back at some of the lowest IQ moments in NASCAR history. These are the mistakes, questionable decisions, bizarre crashes, embarrassing moments, and complete brain fades that left drivers, commentators, teams, and fans completely confused. Some of these moments happened during intense battles where drivers had only seconds to make a decision. Others happened under caution or in situations where there was seemingly no reason for anything to go wrong. And then there are those special moments where you can watch the replay ten times and still have absolutely no idea what the driver was thinking. From the NASCAR Cup Series to the Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series, nobody is safe from making a mistake. Even NASCAR champions and some of the greatest drivers in the history of the sport have had moments they probably wish everyone would forget. Of course, hindsight makes everything easier. NASCAR drivers are making split-second decisions while traveling at speeds approaching 200 MPH, so mistakes are going to happen.
