ŚB 1.3.41 | HG Prabhānu Dāsa | Bhāgavatam Recorded Live on 13th September 2026 | ISKCON Kalyan Devotees ŚLOKA - ŚB 1.3.41: tad idaṁ grāhayām āsa sutaṁ ātmavatāṁ varam sarva-vedetihāsānāṁ sāraṁ sāraṁ samuddhṛtam TRANSLATION: Śrī Vyāsadeva delivered it to his son, who is the most respected among the self-realized, after extracting the cream of all Vedic literatures and histories of the universe. CORE MESSAGE: Vyāsadeva is author of all Vedas, Purāṇas, Mahābhārata, Vedānta-sūtra. But after writing everything, he was still unsatisfied. Nārada instructed - you have not described Kṛṣṇa's pure pastimes. Then he churned all Vedic knowledge again and extracted sāraṁ sāraṁ - cream of cream - Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. And he gave to best person - his own son Śukadeva who was already liberated, ātmārāma - to show even liberated souls relish Bhāgavatam. So we should not think Purāṇas are mythology - they are actual histories of different planets. And we must be careful - milk is good, but if snake touches, it becomes poison. If we hear Bhāgavatam from professional reciter who makes business, we will die spiritually.
