The Hidden Cost of Buying a House in Spain! €1,165 Monthly Water Bill! 🇪🇸

Living in Spain isn't always sunshine, beautiful beaches and long summer evenings! Sometimes things go horribly wrong, and we've certainly had our fair share of unexpected problems recently. In this episode of our Living in Spain series, we're sharing two rather unpleasant experiences that have made the last few weeks particularly challenging. First, we discovered that we had an underground water leak at our property in Spain. What we didn't realise was just how much water was escaping until we received our monthly water bill of an incredible €1,165!😱 How on earth does a water bill get that high? What caused the underground pipe to burst, and what happens when something like this goes wrong with your Spanish property? We talk you through what happened and the financial implications of an unexpected problem like this. But unfortunately, that wasn't the end of our troubles! We've also both been diagnosed with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a bacterial infection affecting the stomach, and have had to undergo an intensive 10-day course of antibiotic treatment. We explain what happened, how we discovered the infection and what the treatment has involved. It's certainly been an eventful time!
