In this video, I dive into two back-to-back tracks by The Stone Roses: “Love Spreads” and “Foz.” I really enjoyed “Love Spreads”—right from the opening, it has a bluesy, Zeppelin-influenced feel that immediately pulled me in. The groove, the guitar tone, and the overall vibe just work, and it ended up being a song I genuinely liked a lot. I followed that up with “Foz,” which I originally thought was just a short bit of noise at the end of the track list—but it turned out to be much longer than I expected. While parts of it were slightly irritating, it was also kind of funny and oddly fun to sit through. If I were listening to the full album, I’d probably skip it most of the time, but every now and then I could see myself letting it play just for kicks. Overall, this was a fun listen and an interesting contrast between two very different tracks from the same band. As a classic rock drummer, I always enjoy hearing how bands play with groove, feel, and atmosphere—and The Stone Roses definitely do that here.
