Following the events on Amphoreus, the Astral Express is caught in an anomalous Imaginary energy storm. To save the Express and its crew from disaster, Himeko performs an emergency warp, but spatial distortion throws her right out of the train. Waking up in an unfamiliar city – Musutafu – the Navigator realizes she is all alone: her beacon is silent, the Trailblaze network is unreachable, and no one from her family is answering her calls. In an effort to locate a high-capacity power source to boost her signal and gather information about this world, Himeko finds herself near the security barrier of UA High School. The strange energy spikes coming from her orbital drone quickly attract the attention of Principal Nezu. Over a cup of tea, the brilliant analyst immediately picks up on her hidden disorientation and foreign nature. Deciding to trust him, Himeko shares the story of the Astral Express, the path of the Trailblaze, and her intergalactic travels.
