English and Japanese subtitles are available. Select CC, then Settings ⚙️ → Subtitles/CC, to choose your language. Spend a day exploring Tokyo’s record, jazz, and contemporary-art culture. In Shinjuku, I browse rock and soul 45s at Disk Union and visit DUG, the historic basement jazz kissa associated with renowned jazz photographer Hozumi Nakadaira. The trip continues to GINZA SIX and Ginza Tsutaya Books, where I encounter Moe Nakamura’s painted wooden sculptures. At the Mori Art Museum in Roppongi, I explore Roppongi Crossing 2022: Coming & Going, an exhibition presenting approximately 120 works by 22 artists and collectives. The video concludes outside the Kabukiza Theatre in Ginza. Historical update: DUG permanently closed on June 27, 2026, after 65 years. This footage was recorded several years before its closure and now provides a brief record of this important Tokyo jazz institution. 00:00 Tokyo introduction and bento 00:47 Rock and soul 45s at Disk Union Shinjuku 02:27 DUG jazz kissa in Shinjuku 05:38 GINZA SIX and Ginza Tsutaya Books 06:26 Moe Nakamura’s painted wooden sculptures 07:25 Mori Art Museum: Roppongi Crossing 2022 09:56 Kabukiza Theatre in Ginza
