The route follows Calle Real, Ledesma Street, Valeria Street, Delgado Street, Yulo Street, Muelle Loney, Aldeguer Street, Plaza Libertad, Santo Rosario Street, and San Rafael Street. 🏛️ The walk begins along Calle Real, officially J.M. Basa Street, one of Iloilo City’s best-known historic commercial streets. Its older façades reflect architectural influences from the late Spanish and American periods, when the district was the centre of retail and business activity in the city. 🏙️ From Calle Real, the route continues through Ledesma, Valeria, Delgado, and Yulo streets. These roads show the wider heritage district beyond its most familiar buildings, with shops, offices, traffic, pedestrians, older structures, and newer development sharing the same city blocks. 🌊 The walk then reaches Muelle Loney, the historic riverfront road associated with Iloilo’s former port and commercial district. The waterfront played an important role in the growth of Iloilo as a trading centre. 🚶 From Muelle Loney, the route turns through Aldeguer Street and returns to Calle Real before continuing toward Plaza Libertad. This part of the walk links the old commercial centre with one of Iloilo City’s most important public spaces. 🇵🇭 Plaza Libertad is closely connected with the final period of Spanish rule in Iloilo.
