Led Zeppelin - Live in Southampton, UK (Jan. 22nd, 1973) - BEST SOUND

Here is Goody's speed and pitch adjusted version of the Winston Remaster of the band's show in Southampton during their Winter 1972/1973 UK tour. This show is notable for being a rare multitrack recording by the band, done for a possible live album (the mellotron during Stairway would later be used for the How the West Was Won live album). As such, this is an incredible recording, being perfectly crystal clear and well balanced, albeit with some slight volume fluctuations. By default, it's the best sounding bootleg of the band and, if you're a sucker for good sound quality, this surely fits the bill! The performance is rather loose and relaxed and somewhat sloppy at times, particularly during the first hour or so of the show. Page in particular is a bit sticky and Plant is somewhat iffy for this era. Things improve during the 2nd half of the show, which most notably includes the first ever live performance of How Many More Times in over 2 years! While not the band's best show by any means, this does deliver a wonderful approximation of what seeing a relaxed Zeppelin in a small venue in 1973 would have sounded like.
