迎賓施設の近代和風建築　旧前田家本邸 和館　設計：佐々木 岩次郎　Modern Japanese-style architecture for the reception facility

旧前田家本邸は旧加賀藩主の系譜をひく前田家の本邸として、本郷区（現在の文京区）本郷から移転した。和館は、外国賓客に日本文化を伝える目的で建設された迎賓施設に特化した近代和風建築であり、大正末期から昭和初期に建てられた大邸宅建築を代表する建物である。（重要文化財）竣工1930年　所在地：目黒区駒場四丁目3番55号　区立駒場公園内 建築家、佐々木 岩次郎は京都出身。明治から昭和初期にかけて活動し、主に神社仏閣や伝統建築の分野で多くの業績を残した。1922年、佐々木建築事務所を創設し、後進の育成にも尽力するなど、近代日本の建築界において重要な役割を果たした。また、伊東忠太と多くのプロジェクトで協同している。主な作品は「北野天満宮（社殿の改修設計）」「三井八郎右衞門邸」「京都嵐山法輪寺多宝塔」など。 BGM:ブラームス：弦楽六重奏曲 第1番 第2楽章 （ピアノソロ版）とともにご視聴ください。 The former Maeda Residence was relocated from Hongo in Hongo Ward (present-day Bunkyo Ward) as the main residence of the Maeda family, descended from the former lords of the Kaga domain. The Wakan (Japanese-style building) was constructed specifically as a reception facility to convey Japanese culture to distinguished foreign guests. It is a representative example of the grand mansions built between the end of the Taisho period and the beginning of the Showa period. (Important Cultural Property) Address: 3-55 Komaba 4-chome, Meguro Ward, Komaba Park Architect Iwajiro Sasaki, a Kyoto native, was active from the Meiji period to the early Showa period, achieving many accomplishments, primarily in the fields of shrines, temples, and traditional architecture. In 1922, he founded the Sasaki Architectural Office and played an important role in the modern Japanese architectural world, including devoting himself to nurturing the next generation of architects. He also collaborated with Chuta Ito on many projects. His major works include the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (renovation and design of the shrine), the Mitsui Hachiroemon Residence, and the Tahoto Pagoda at Horin-ji Temple in Arashiyama, Kyoto.
