I Married Joan S2 20 (59) "Anniversary Memo" 02/24/1954-Guest Star: Beverly Garland

“Anniversary Memo” Director: John Rich. Writers: Phil Sharp, Sherwood Schwartz, Jesse Goldstein. Here is a fun episode with a little bit of an adult theme. Joan finds a note in Brad’s handwriting: “Don’t forget present and flowers for Ann.” She assumes it’s another woman and proceeds to try to find out who. She calls the florist (Marilyn Gustafson) who confirms that Brad ordered the flowers. Joan hangs up before the florist can tell her that it’s a standing order for their anniversary. Brad finds out and wants to teach Joan a lesson. He asks Beverly’s (Beverly Wills) boyfriend Tom (Tom Peters) to call his friend at a talent agency to hire an actress to pose as “Ann.” The Janitor (Jerome Sheldon) tells Tom that the owner is out. In the meantime, an unscrupulous lawyer (Anthony Warde) tries to bribe Brad to not recommend him to be disbarred. Brad refuses. The lawyer tries to shake him down by sending his girlfriend (Beverly Garland ("Decoy" "My Three Sons", "Seventh Heaven," "Port Charles") to get Brad in a compromising position and take photos of it. Beverly tips Joan off, and when the shakedown artist shows up, she thinks it’s the actress. She encourages the proceedings—even takes the compromising photos! All’s well that ends well, of course! The delivery man in the opening scene is played by Billy Benedict, a longtime veteran of Joan’s films.
