Kṛṣṇa gives him divine eyes, and Arjuna sees the Viśvarūpa: unlimited faces and eyes, all the demigods, Brahmā on the lotus and Lord Śiva within one body, the sun and moon as His eyes, and the great warriors of both armies entering His blazing mouths. Kṛṣṇa declares, "Time I am, destroyer of the worlds." Trembling, Arjuna prays to see Him again as the four-armed Viṣṇu, and finally as the beautiful two-armed Kṛṣṇa, who reveals that He can be known as He is only by pure devotional service (11.54).
