Why Painting Under Pressure Makes My Art Better

In this studio session, I share why painting under pressure and working against a tight gallery deadline actually makes my art better by forcing me to silence the inner critic and rely purely on intuitive flow. Come into my studio as I race against the clock to create a collection of small original abstract paintings before we have to pack up our space. #abstractpainting #intuitiveart #studiovlog #paintingprocess #acrylicpainting Timestamps 00:00 Why a Deadline is a Creative Superpower 00:16 Facing a Hard Gallery Deadline & Studio Move 01:25 Working on the Pieces & The Plan 02:00 Intuitive Flow vs. Art College Rules 02:37 Watching Myself Paint & Finding Flow 03:10 Why I'm an Artist 03:50 Painting on Unstretched Canvas 04:25 The Plan Recap 04:00 Trusting the Pressure & Final Thoughts Let’s Connect 🤍 I’m Rita — a professional abstract artist sharing quiet, cozy vlogs from my downtown home studio. Here, you’ll see mixed media abstract paintings unfold in real time, hear honest reflections on the creative life, and witness what it looks like to cultivate a mindful practice later in life. If you value process, presence, and intuitive art that evolves slowly, you’re in the right place. ☕ Support the Studio (Tip Jar): https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/P4...
