At 𝗪𝗶𝗠𝗦𝗔’𝘀 latest 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 last Tuesday, 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀, 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, we gathered to unpack what sustainability looks like when it’s led with intention, not just obligation. Hosted by 𝗪𝗶𝗠𝗦𝗔 committee member 𝗡𝘁𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘂𝗸𝗲 𝗞𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗮, the conversation brought together 𝗗𝗿. 𝗨𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 at 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱, and 𝗡𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗱, 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱, for a grounded, honest exchange on ESG in action. From biodiversity offsets and wetland rehabilitation to stakeholder trust and operational complexity, this session explored how sustainability becomes real when it’s embedded into decision-making, not added as a checkbox. Dr. Govender reminded us: “𝘞𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦. 𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥”, and Nishi, brought sharp clarity to the realities of implementation, where policy meets people, and progress depends on listening as much as leading. This wasn’t just a talk. It was a call to lead differently. We’re already looking forward to welcoming you to the next 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸, where bold questions, honest conversations, and shared learning continue to shape the future of our industry.
