Going Public: Creating Art for Shared Spaces

What happens when art moves beyond galleries, stages, and the page, and into the spaces we share? Going Public: Creating Art for Shared Spaces, explores the possibilities of public art for artists across disciplines. Learn how artists can expand their practice, create work for public spaces, engage communities, and navigate the opportunities and considerations that come with making art for the public. Innovators, public art advocates, and artists shared how practitioners from all disciplines can expand their practice. Together, we will examine what kind of work benefits most from being part of the civic discourse as well as the ethics and politics of creating new work aimed at the public.
