Mai Chau, Vietnam

It wouldn’t be fair to say that it’s off the beaten track, but Mai Chau is more often visited by local than foreign tourists. A 4-hour drive from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, Mai Chau is a favourite weekend getaway for locals. Travelling during Tet is a bit inconvenient as some shops are closed and transport is not easy to come by. Nevertheless, , this is a really short exploratory trip. There is a lot more to explore.
