What If Robb Stark Never Sent Theon Greyjoy to Pyke

After the victory at the Whispering Wood, Robb Stark listens to his mother and refuses to send Theon Greyjoy back to Pyke. He calls Theon the brother he grew up with. Robb keeps him close and sends Lord Galbart Glover to Pyke with a sealed letter instead. The northern host marches into the westerlands, where Robb and Theon fight side by side. Yet Balon Greyjoy puts his longships to sea anyway. When a raven reaches camp with news of raids on the coast, Theon must choose between Robb and his father. At Oxcross the war deepens, and Robb struggles to hold his bannermen together while tempers flare with Rickard Karstark and the Greatjon. Then a secret letter arrives from Balon. It offers Theon the Seastone Chair and Winterfell. Theon swore an oath to Robb, but his father demands his loyalty. Will he stand by Robb, or take what Balon offers? Meanwhile, Roose Bolton watches the camp in silence while ironborn raiders strike toward the wolfswood. Robb's choice at Riverrun changes the War of the Five Kings. Steel clashes across the hills of the westerlands, and ironborn torches smoke in the northern woods. Behind Winterfell's walls the hearths stay cold, but the gates remain barred against the sea.
