Lagos-Calabar Highway Faces Shutdown Warning | Is Begging Becoming A Culture?

The Nigerian Government has warned that parts of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway could be shut if dangerous driving and vandalism continue along the route. Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Olufemi Dare, says some motorists have been exceeding construction-zone speed limits, while officials also report illegal parking, unauthorised road use and damage to infrastructure. The government says it has increased security measures to protect the highway, but acknowledges that some sections were opened before all planned works, including bridges, were completed.
