The social integration program — KIIP — sits behind two of the biggest doors in Korean immigration. Finish enough of it and you have what permanent residence and naturalisation both ask for in the way of Korean.
People arrive at it knowing it matters and not knowing what any of its words mean. The structure is actually simple: six levels, a test at each end of them, and a certificate when you are through. This video reads the words — the levels, the five tests and their real names, the paperwork that decides whether your hours counted, and what level five is actually about.
Six sound changes cover almost every word here, and not one of them is printed on the schedule:
a plain consonant goes tense after ㄱ or ㅂ (객관식 · 합격 · 접수)
ㅅ goes tense after ㄹ in a Sino-Korean word (출석 · 결석)
ㄱ turns into ㅇ before ㅁ (작문 [장문])
ㄴ next to ㄹ becomes a doubled ㄹ (권리 [궐리])
몇 is read [멷], and the consonant after it hardens (몇 단계 [멷 딴계])
a final consonant slides into the empty seat next door (운영기관 [우녕기관])
Test structure and pass mark: kiiptest.org, comprehensive evaluation, checked 20 September 2026.

Whether you qualify, which route fits your visa, how long the hours take where you live and what the current schedule is all change, and none of them are language questions. The tests live on kiiptest.org, the programme on Social Integration Net, and 1345 answers questions about status in about twenty languages.
